a magical adventure among sharks
In her personal crusade in defense of sharks, marine scientist Gàdor Muntaner embarks on a journey in search of the animal she finds so fascinating.
The journey starts in the Mediterranean, in Mallorca, where she goes diving in the Illa del Toro marine reserve. Here, the blue shark is in danger of extinction. She then visits Baja California, in Mexico, where she wrote her thesis on pollutants that affect the great white shark and founded an NGO.
This time she goes swimming with bull sharks. And she ends her journey in the Maldives, in the Indian Ocean, where she saw her first shark at the age of 16, a moment that changed her life: "It seemed like the perfect animal to me". She is returning now to see how the tiger shark population has increased.
